Case Study
Challenge
The legacy Drupal 7 website was not the authoritative source for laboratory test information. Test data existed across multiple systems, creating inconsistencies for client services, sales representatives, and customers. The platform also relied on an aging architecture that limited future development.
Phase 1 Solution
Drupal 7 -> Drupal 10
- Migrated the website from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10.
- Created a single source of truth for laboratory test information.
- Introduced a downloadable Test Menu PDF generated from the latest data.
- Integrated Salesforce (Pardot) for marketing and lead capture.
- Improved confidence that internal teams and customers were accessing current test information.
Phase 2 Solution
Headless Platform
- Transitioned to a headless architecture using Drupal 10, Next.js, and GraphQL.
- Hosted the application internally on Azure.
- Built CI/CD pipelines for Development, Test, and Production.
- Developed a custom Drupal module to synchronize test data from an internal source.
- Enhanced search with Apache Solr for faster, more relevant results
Success
Impact
The project transformed a legacy website into a modern, scalable platform that serves as the trusted source for laboratory test information. By centralizing data, automating synchronization, and improving search, internal teams and customers can reliably access accurate, up-to-date information. The move to a headless architecture, combined with Azure hosting and automated CI/CD pipelines, established a strong technical foundation that supports faster releases, easier maintenance, and future growth.
